Italian heritage reverberates in this collection’s aesthetic research, examining Italy’s culture, highlighting tradition that has always been rooted in the mission of Tod’s.
Tod’s Creative Director, Walter Chiapponi, reimagines icons of Italian beauty, transforming them into modern, versatile objects for everyday use, characterized by a refined and unique sense of quality. Like the famous Di Bag in natural leather, which has now been deconstructed and transformed into a multifunctional handbag expertly crafted from soft, sensual leathers.
The laced W.G. ankle boot with rubber sole, has been updated this winter season, revealing new proportions and suede elements in warm, natural hues, for a masculine-inspired style that features high, voluminous soles reminiscent of combat boots and winter sports.
The most iconic pieces in traditional sportswear, the trench coat and the bomber jacket, change in volume and display surprising material combinations, such as quilted nubuck, padded leather, and shearling-effect jersey with rubber weave detailing which evokes the iconic Gommino.
Masculinity and femininity converge in a unisex wardrobe but only conceptually, attentive to the lines of the body and the dialogue between genders. Knitwear takes centre stage: voluminous and heavy to the eye yet soft and sensual to touch, it combines fabric and leather for a distinctly bohemian effect. The purity of uniform-like lines and the luxury of Italian tailoring come together in a contemporary streetwear spirit, in which skirts become Bermuda shorts and trousers take on a boyish attitude. The rigour and urban elegance of the men’s jackets and coats take on the country-style freedom of padded cloaks and jackets.
