Burberry partners with Marcus Rashford

Burberry renews its commitment to supporting the next generation in making their dreams come true, unlocking opportunities through the power of imagination and empowering them to go further.

In partnership with English international footballer and youth supporter Marcus Rashford MBE, Burberry today announces its support for organizations in the UK committed to helping disadvantaged children develop their literacy skills.

Honoring the legacy of house founder Thomas Burberry, a strong advocate of using creativity as a tool to broaden horizons, Burberry will provide funding to transform school libraries and donate books, ensuring children have access to environments and secure resources to develop their potential. Burberry will also support organizations in the United States and Asia to create new libraries and provide books to disadvantaged communities.

‘We have identified a concrete need. Too many children currently lack access to books, typically due to financial restrictions, and there is a need to inspire them and enable them to see beyond the challenges they face on a daily basis. These children need to escape through reading and access to books should not be limited by the area in which they grow up. Coming out of the pandemic, there was a huge need for safe spaces, places where children could just breathe and process their feelings. I am very proud of what we have achieved with the Marcus Rashford Book Club project and I hope that children can feel the benefit of these spaces for years to come. This has been a truly rewarding process and I am grateful to Burberry for continuing to be with me on this journey to support disadvantaged communities by offering them real opportunities.
