dōTERRA® produces and distributes exceptionally high quality CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade® essential oils through more than three million independent distributors, also known as Wellness Advocates, around the world. In addition to a premium line of essential oils used by individuals and health-care professionals alike, the company also offers products that are naturally safe, purely effective, and infused with CPTG essential oils, including personal care and spa products, nutritional supplements, and healthy living products.
Founded in 2008, doTERRA was built with a mission to share the highest quality essential oils with the world. Having seen firsthand the incredible benefits that can be gained from using these valuable resources, a group of healthcare and business professionals have decided to fulfill this mission. They formed a company and called it doTERRA, a Latin derivative meaning “gift of the earth”.
In order to better facilitate personal experiences with essential oils, doTERRA uses a direct sales model that allows distributors to work with customers rather than mass marketing. This more individual approach allows people to experience the incredible power of essential oils for themselves while also developing trusting relationships.
When you open a bottle of pure and genuine essential oil, your senses are instantly filled with its powerful aroma, even from a distance. What your nose detects are the natural elements of the essential oil.
Each essential oil varies in its natural composition, so the aromas and benefits are also unique.
There are three ways to use essential oils:
- Through the sense of smell. We call this “aromatic” use of essential oils. This includes any application method that helps you experience the aroma of the oil.
- On your skin. The “topical” application of essential oils allows the oil to absorb into the skin.
- The ingestion or “internal” use of essential oils allows the oil to be transported throughout the body.
When you use a bottle of doTERRA essential oil, you are using a pure oil. There are no contaminants, fillers or adulterations. Every oil sold by doTERRA is responsibly sourced and sustainably sourced. doTERRA focuses on sourcing practices that will produce only the highest quality essential oils, regardless of cost.
