The iconic Burberry trench coat is deconstructed and redesigned in strong and new silhouettes that experiment and play with volumes. The styles, a mix of classic Burberry gabardine and textured cotton / linen, are cut at the back to reveal swimwear animated by abstract prints. Outerwear in brown and a new dark biscuit shade are transformed through bold details, from exaggerated lapels to chain link details, from sleeveless proportions to raw hems. A sense of fluidity is given to the trench and car coat through flared and oversized sleeves on collarless and hooded shapes, as well as perforated or leather-finished capes, reinvigorating tradition with a touch of new energy.
A kaleidoscope of geometric and experimental abstract prints – which evoke the fluid shapes of camouflage – and the “Universal Passport” graphics adorn dresses and shirts, superimposed under sheer tops or printed mesh, to create new harmonies of motifs. Color block geometric inlays and prints on oversized sleeveless dresses and blazers.
Freedom of movement is explored through flowing dresses with cap sleeves and lacing at the neck with thigh-high slits. The mini dresses are decorated with large exaggerated fringes, ruffles and shoulder pads and paired with juxtaposed oversized jackets.
A deconstructed approach to British tailoring sees boxy cut blazers reworked in sleeveless and open back versions. The lapels are reconstructed like scarves to be wrapped on the shoulder. A boned corset chest strap is subversively reshaped in smooth leather or as a technical neoprene hoodie with a peplum hem.
In contrast to the oversized proportions, there are sexy silhouettes in technical stretch fabrics that hug the figure, exuding a mood of confidence that underpins the looks and elevates the independent pieces.
Lively, lightweight bodysuits and leggings are layered with animal-inspired mohair-blend capes and fringes, defying the conventional. Long-sleeved top and leggings with porthole openings and chain details. Off the shoulder ribbed knitwear is worn with crop tops with cut-out details and leggings with stitching and toe loops. A crystal and tulle mesh bodysuit.
