The collection is showcased in the video “Tod’s Under The Italian Sun”. Shot at Cantina Petra, Suvereto, the building is designed by Architect Mario Botta. Immersed in the Tuscan countryside, with its staircase lost in infinity, it frames the meeting of different male characters. They are the actors Saul Nanni and Meledeen Yacoubi, the musician Lorenzo Sutto, the singer Theo Isambourg, the model Yonghong.

The Tod’s S/S 2022 collection expands upon a style narrative based on nonchalance and modern craftsmanship. This season the inspiration combines the adventurous imagery of Peter Beard with the idea of the urban safari, imagining a wardrobe focused on leisure. Volumes are soft, enveloping, even in tailoring.

Mediterranean and sandy colours harmonise with the landscape.

The wardrobe is made up of classic staples, reinterpreted in different materials, details and proportions. The canvas Jack Biker has leather gommino pads on the elbows, the windbreaker is a combination of different materials, the hoodie is made of suede. The iconic T Jacket has contrasting patch pockets in leather, while the trench coats are made of light nylon in bright hues. The idea of the uniform recurs, matching top and trousers, whether they are knitted or lightweight safari jacket with chambray trousers and a canvas shirt with bermuda shorts. Trousers are practical, in parachute canvas, with drawstring detail at the ankle. Knitwear is chunky yet light.

Accessories create new balances: thick soles for desert and Chelsea boots, renewing the Winter Gommino, a Tod’s evergreen that takes on new proportions. Sandals have rubber soles.

The new sneakers Dots Run overlap nylon and leather and combine contrasting colours, with soles which are always characterised by the iconic gommino. The penny loafer or T Timeless moccasins have deconstructed and soft shapes. The Camera Bags, inspired by the bags of photographers, are also marked by the T, while the lion recurs like a herald: embossed on the leather of the large backpacks and weekend bags in canvas and leather, and on the bags in woven raffia and leather, embroidered and enlarged on the canvas bags.
