Creative Director Alessandro Michele was inspired for this collection by the seductive style of Hollywood stars of the past, who shone as much on the screen as in their private lives. Launched in 2017, the Hollywood Forever eyewear line returns in 2021 with a new selection of contemporary sunglasses, embellished with vintage-inspired elements, which tell of a union of retro charm and modern elegance.
The ‘actors’ of the campaign are portrayed by the artist, photographer and director Harmony Korine wearing sunglasses from the Hollywood Forever line and immersed in the soap bubbles of an extravagant colored bathroom.
Gucci’s creative approach to eyewear design is manifested in bold frames and volumes, made of metal and acetate.
The cat-eye silhouette is reimagined with sharp angles and beamed profiles, while a vibrant pink hue enhances an ultra-feminine frame with heart-shaped lenses. The classic round design is revisited with an oversized front, while the rectangular frames feature an eccentric design with varying thicknesses.
Each model is embellished with sparkling crystals, meticulously applied by hand to capture and reflect the extraordinary Hollywood charm. The metal frames also feature the Gucci logo in letters and small hearts engraved on the bridge, which further enhance the design. Finally, the golden logo with the intertwined Double G adds a refined touch to a collection with a rich and bold aesthetic.
