Montblanc presents the new Montblanc Meisterstück collection Around the World in 80 Days, evoking the fantastic story of the circumnavigation of the globe through elegant design elements inspired by the themes of this adventure classic.

A highly successful publishing novel, Around the World in 80 Days tells the extraordinary journey around the world made in just 80 days by the British gentleman Phileas Fogg in a daring attempt to win a bet. Despite the many challenges and limitations he faces, the unabashed 19th-century adventurer displays a passion, determination and pioneering spirit that allow him to achieve an unimaginable goal.

The indigo blue and wave pattern of the collection is inspired by the long stretch of ocean navigation that takes Fogg from the Suez Canal to Bombay. The steamer, the main means of transport used by the characters in the first part of the voyage, is laser engraved on the hood. To recall the card game during which Fogg makes his bet, the clip is decorated with the ace of spades in black lacquer, while the other suits are visible in the wave pattern on the cap.

The 18 days taken to complete the first part of the itinerary (two less than expected) are engraved on the back of the top of the cap, while the 80 days for the entire trip appear on the front. The two dates engraved on the handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib recall the start of the journey, October 2, and the day Fogg arrived in Bombay to complete the first leg, October 20.

The pioneering spirit and love for adventure conveyed by this book are also found in the accessories and coordinated wearable devices: Smartwatches, Luxury Stationery and Men’s Accessories.

The Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection is available from May 2021 in Montblanc boutiques worldwide and online at www.montblanc.com
