Riccardo Tisci’s first exclusively female presentation for Burberry offers a bold interpretation of modern femininity: it abandons archetypes and redirects preconceptions. At its core, the collection conveys a sense of pride and unwavering conviction. With a sense of fluidity, the looks reinvent tradition, upset classicism and encourage freedom of expression.

Set within the heart of the brand, Burberry’s flagship store on Regent Street in London, a majestic incarnation of visionary British artist Shygirl, opening the presentation with an original speech by her. The collection itself reflects Burberry’s distinctive character and attitude, reinvigorating the hallmarks with a new perspective for today’s modern woman. This energy is encapsulated in a dynamic electronic soundtrack, which brings the cast together as they proudly move through space.

Continuing to draw inspiration from the themes proposed in the Fall / Winter 2021 men’s presentation, the collection pays homage to the indomitable force of Mother Nature and the British artisan movements of the early twentieth century. With fluttering cloaks and references to flags, the collection gives a nod to these groups who have boldly ventured into nature, defying convention on their journey towards building a better future. This sense of optimism is palpable throughout the collection, through bursts of unexpected brightness: the rainbow shining through the rain.
