This year’s theme of the FENDI holiday season decoration is inspired by FENDI Pack, a bold and ironic Collection of real-like accessories that resemble the FENDI Packaging, which captures the attention with a combination of shopping bags and boxes in yellow and pink for a captivating graphic look.
“I started from the basics because I wanted to have a Collection that was talking about great basics for men. I asked myself, what is the most basic thing we do? And it’s our packaging. It’s the first thing you think about when you think about FENDI, so I said, let’s start from this: it’s the FENDI yellow,” states Silvia Venturini Fendi.
As every year during the holiday season, Palazzo FENDI in Rome shines with lights and decorative elements including a sparkling and special lights game given by a Murano glass Chandelier in the boutique windows that express the mood and sets it off for the rest of the world starting from mid November.
The Chandelier concept has been inspired by the voluptuous and lighting details of the special FENDI ROMA Holiday Collection in order to share a message of joy and positiveness by reinterpreting the Christmas Tree’s iconic festive décor. The Murano glass chandelier is born from a unique project that sustains a local artisan in the island of Murano, Veneto called Mazzuccato, that preserves the precious hand-made expertise of glass workmanship and that has run through some difficulties during lockdown in Italy. FENDI has bought 37 already produced Murano Chandeliers left in stock because of a lack of customer demand and orders cancellations, and has disassembled them to create 17 special and uniquely unusual giant chandeliers who’s concept mixes handcrafted pieces reworked with contemporary touch and fancy decorations recalling FENDI Icons and the FENDI Pack. Melting tradition and modern technology the classical Murano shape becomes a sharp modern FENDI Chandelier. They have been created made to measure to décor five Boutique windows worldwide; Rome Palazzo Fendi, London New Bond Street, New York Madison Avenue, Paris Avenue Montaigne, Shanghai Plaza 66. Other boutiques worldwide present other declinations of the chandelier theme in metal and crystals.
A special project presented in Korea with a unique façade takeover in an eye-catching FENDI Pack puzzle like and digital animation kicks the season off on November 5. Dedicated to FENDI universe and located in the Seoul Galleria Department Store East, the pop-up store presents the set-up with undulating sofas in sugary pink inspired by the Women’s FW20 fashion show. The luxurious carpet evokes the subversive concept of ‘soft power’ from the collection. Visitors can explore the dual personalities of la donna FENDI, through offbeat contrasts and unexpected tailoring. A special chandelier Christmas tree-like with pink LOVE, FENDI and FF charms stands outdoors with the yellow FENDI Pack as decorative elements.
On this occasion FENDI also presents an iconic FENDI CAFFE in Tokyo Omotesando giving a new face to the existent Anniversaire coffee corner from November 28 to December 27 and in London with the Selfridges Champagne Bar from November 17 to end of January 2021, all inspired by the Fall/Winter 20-21 Fashion show set and the iconic colors of the FENDI Pack yellow and pink.
From this inspiration also numerous pink and yellow tinted Pop-ups and Pop-ins worldwide are developed including Rome Palazzo FENDI, Milan Montenapoleone, Paris Avenue Montaigne, London Harrods, Munich Maximilian Strasse, Dubai Mall, Tokyo Ginza 6 and Omotesando, Hong Kong Canton Road and Landmark, Beijing SKP South, Shanghai Plaza 66 and Seoul Galleria.
