JW ANDERSON launches
“MADE IN BRITAIN”

A limited edition & eco-friendly capsule collection

JW Anderson is proud to present a new limited edition eco-friendly capsule collection: Made in Britain. As the name suggests, the new collection of 6 ready- to-wear and accessories is entirely produced in Great Britain. Conceived as a sustainable initiative, the project involves the use of excess fabrics and finishes from previous seasons produced solely in UK based factories.

“It’s really important to me that JW Anderson becomes more eco-conscious and sustainable, too being a relatively small brand. The idea with “Made in Britain” was to create something new but using the pre-existing resources and materials, while maintaining the locally produced. We have also started using recycled materials in our canvas bags and backpacks. These are first steps, but I want them to be real and concrete while we work to become more and more sustainable every year. “

The concept and prototypes were developed during the lockdown in London with model makers and suppliers through exchanges of fabrics and garments via messenger with Jonathan Anderson, founder and creative director of JW Anderson, and the design team overseeing the process via video calls, text messages and images via email.

For the collection Jonathan imagined the brand’s iconic shapes and silhouettes, including shirts over-sized, a trench coat, a cape, a dress and t-shirt using signature techniques such as patchwork, reverse and raw seams, immediately attributable to JW Anderson. The capsule also includes 6 new versions of the iconic JW Anderson keychain made handcrafted by independent suppliers right in London.

The Made in Britain collection will be available exclusively in JW’s London flagship store Anderson is online at Jwanderson.com and Farfetch.com.
