Nicolas Ghesquière immortalizes the new Louis Vuitton Campaign

An extremely personal collection, a total creative investment, which translates into a contemporary, free and daring campaign.

To photograph this campaign, Nicolas Ghesquière invited the Maison’s friends to his photographic studio, a creative workshop on the Quai Voltaire in Paris: among them, close friends who inspire him for their personality, kindred spirits and close people. Friendly celebrities, beloved models, amazing artists and athletes including Dina Asher-Smith, Marina Foïs, Noémie Merlant, Stacy Martin, Léa Seydoux and Lous and the Yakuza. In all, 20 personalities that the Artistic Director wanted to capture in their essence. The same goes for the iconic bags of the Maison that accompany this stylistic exercise: Capucines, Twist, Pont 9 and Dauphine.

With the same sincerity, Nicolas Ghesquière immortalizes the new “SINCE 1854” collection.

A precious jacquard embroidered with a fundamental date, 1854, woven between the Monogram flowers, echoes the year of the Maison’s foundation.

Already iconic, the motif is the spirit of Louis Vuitton’s spirit on the timeless accessories of the Maison such as Dauphine, Neverfull and Petit Noé. The “SINCE 1854” signature also decorates the essential elements of the wardrobe and accessories.

“I thought it would be interesting to extend my work to photography, to follow the creative process to the end and to give the collection final punctuation. In this portrait gallery, people were involved for my personal reasons and I enjoyed discovering new connections with those I already knew. I also wanted to bring unity to different aspects, giving a global vision of what is happening in the Maison; give a timeless look to creations that are very anchored to the season. For me, moving to photography comes from the desire to express the sensations we share when we work on a collection “says Nicolas Ghesquière.
