Alexander McQueen – Dancing Girls

The dress embodies the commitment of Alexander McQueen's home to cultivate a new generation of young designers
1900

The sketches, inspired by the dancing girls, made by Central Saint Martins students in a drawing lesson held in the educational space at the Alexander McQueen flagship store in London last year, were the source of the embroideries in the Spring / Summer 2020 collection. Stitch School, founded to reconnect communities through embroidery, has provided specialized tables and frames to Alexander McQueen studios in London and Paris, allowing each team member to contribute to hand embroidery on a single ivory-colored linen suit.

The dress embodies the commitment of Alexander McQueen’s home to cultivate a new generation of young designers and to create a creative community. Worn by Stella Tennant on the show, this precious, one-of-a-kind look inspired the embroidery for a second moonlight blue linen dress.
