#MiuMe invites a very varied cross-section of people from all over the world – prominent personalities from the world of sport, art, dance and fashion, but also Miu Miu fans who answer a call-out on Instagram – to use their cell phones to film themselves in their environment. Each will wear Miu Miu garments and accessories, new or rediscovered in their wardrobe. All are free to present themselves in front of the lens in the way they prefer, elevating the selfie to a statement of one’s identity and one’s particular sense of self.

Each video will stage the show of someone we admire while spending time in the company of itself, a playful dialogue with one’s self for the benefit of all. We look at her while she considers her own image appeared on the telephone display and answers her, with the look that a woman reserves to herself. A look framed in the context of modern femininity proposed by Miu Miu through the clothes she wears, full of the awareness that this moment of solitary contemplation will continue further, to be shared by the Miu Miu audience

From the homes of the multiple interpreters around the world, these Moving FaceTime self-portraits will be collected and edited for the first phase of this ongoing project. #MiuMe further explores the themes of closeness and intimacy between photographer and subject that are central to CLOSE, offering an introspective and transparent look at the relationship that each subject has with himself, the closest and most personal point of view of all.
