The Joker star attended the Golden Globe Awards wearing a black single-breasted bespoke suit with grosgrain details and a thin black tie from the Stella McCartney Menswear collection– a British designer who has been a leading voice in sustainable fashion since launching her brand in 2001, working with vegan animal skins and encouraging the using recyclable materials.
Joaquin Phoenix won the Best Actor award in a drama film at the Golden Globes, obviously thanks to Joker, and his speech did not leave the Beverly Hilton audience indifferent.
During his acceptance speech Phoenix, who is a lifelong vegan, spoke about a number of animal rights and environmental issues, including climate change, veganism and the Australian wildfires.
The actor also praised the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for organizing a vegan dinner, “recognizing the connection between intensive animal husbandry and climate change.”
