In tribute to one of Christian Dior’s first passions – he was a gallerist and art collector before he founded his couture house – Kim Jones, the artistic director of men’s collections, collaborated with the american artist Raymond Pettibon for his winter 2019-2020 show. This key figure of the 1970s california punk scene imagined an exclusive white leopard motif inspired by the print the founding couturier was so fond of. Reinterpreted by the artist in a contemporary version, it appears on a new line of accessories.
Done in the Dior oblique jacquard, a timeless house code that Kim Jones revisits through the prism of art, the emblematic saddle and roller bags take on this striking motif. The b23 sneakers, in hypnotic spots recalling raymond pettibon’s work, subtly reveal the name Dior.
