Through its shared values of innovation and pioneering spirit, Louis Vuitton and Riot Games announce a historic collaboration that unites the French Maison and the US-based eSport facility, creator of League of Legends.

Since its launch in 2009, League of Legends, an online multiplayer game, has grown to become a global phenomenon, earning it the most played PC game in the world and becoming the protagonist of the explosive development of eSports. Every year Riot Games organizes a League of Legends world championship dedicated to the best players and the best teams in the world. This year it starts on October 2 in Berlin for the play-ins and the group stages, it continues in Madrid from October 26 for the quarter-finals and the semifinals and culminates with the final, on November 10th in Paris.

For this event, Louis Vuitton is creating, in collaboration with Riot Games, a unique trophy travel set for a trophy containing the Summoner’s Cup, the prize that will be awarded to the world champions and considered the most prestigious prize in the eSports circuit . The tailor-made trunk, the first of its kind for an eSport championship, will present both the traditional Louis Vuitton savoir-faire and cutting-edge high-tech elements inspired by the League of Legends universe.

Louis Vuitton and Riot Games will soon announce the introduction of exclusive leathers and a capsule collection designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Women’s Collections along with other digital products of the League of Legend.

“We are honored to have Louis Vuitton with us as an official partner, with his reasons influencing the appearance, atmosphere and prestige of our most important League of Legends event,” says Naz Aletaha, head of Global Esports Partnerships in Riot Games. “This is a historic partnership that talks about the impact of Riot Games and League of Legends on the industry over the last nine seasons of eSports. We welcome Louis Vuitton into our sport and look forward to sharing the full scope of the partnership in the coming months, particularly November 10, when the Summoner’s Cup will be awarded in Paris. “

“The League of Legends world championship is not only the culmination of the tournament: it is the place where the world of sport and entertainment come together to celebrate the birth of new legends,” says Michael Burke, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton. “The name Louis Vuitton has long been associated with the most coveted trophies in the world, and here we are today, alongside the Summoner’s Cup. We are excited to be part of such an iconic event.”
