Stella McCartney and Hunter have teamed up to create a new rubber boot; probably the most sustainable ever made so far. Launched in winter 2019 during the fashion show in Paris, this boot has a design cleverly combined with the iconic British heritage to create a new generation of footwear that uses natural rubber of sustainable origin and an innovative material called Yulex ™.
Hunter has been using natural rubber since 1856 and Stella McCartney has been able to push this solution to new and original boundaries.
The natural rubber of this boot comes from sustainable management, certified in the forests of Guatemala, thus ensuring that no rainforest is cut down, also protecting the well-being of workers and local communities. The elasticized sock insert is made of Yulex ™, also made of certified natural rubber. This material replaces traditional neoprene. This choice generates 80% less carbon dioxide harmful to the climate balance, but offers almost identical performance in terms of strength and elasticity.
Its design reinterprets the iconic Hunter Wellington boot with sculptural soles and hand-made treads. The inserts of the elasticated sock and the tabs with logo add an original sporty touch.
Available for men and women in black, gray and dark green, they will be on sale at Stella McCartney, Hunterboots.com and major retailers starting in September 2019.
