fashion, luxury, and talent combined with sustainability: these are the crucial themes of the 7th edition of the fashion week on the principality’s stage may 15-19

Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco, the 7 TH edition of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week, chaired by the founder of the Chambre Monegasque de la Mode, Federica Nardoni Spinetta, the official fashion event of the Principality of Monaco will take the stage from May 15-19, 2019.

Sustainable development and ethics are and must be synonyms with fashion, and involve all the links in the production chain: from the conditions of workers to the use of natural resources, from the elimination of toxic substances in materials to the research of advanced production technologies.

The guest of honor of this edition is Alberta Ferretti who, on the evening of Saturday, May 18, will parade with the Cruise 2020 collection at the Yacht Club of Monaco. The designer, always a great supporter of ethical fashion, has recently launched a collection of garments made with carefully selected materials, with certifications that guarantee the recycled origin of the material, the use of biological fabrics and a reduction in the use of chemical substances.

On the catwalks of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week will alternate prestigious names in the fashion world that have always been committed to the sustainable front: Gilberto Calzolari, a designer who produces garments completely “sustainable” already awarded with the Green Carpet Award in Milan; the international talented Jiri Kalfar, known for his “Save The Bees”collection presented at the London Fashion, for being an animal rights activist and for his eco-sustainable garments, usually worn by many celebrities, including, Camila Cabello and Karolina Kurkova. And finally, the project by Federica Nardoni Spinetta that sees her as Creative Director of the Beach &Cashmere Monaco brand that for the SS19 season created”Save the Ocean”, a collection that draws inspiration from her deep love for the sea and her clothes launches the message “We respect our sea and save it from pollution

Moreover, at the Fashion Village will be set up an artistic work of the Giordani Gallery, created in collaboration with Swarovski.”Lutjanus Fulgens” is the representation of a large red snapper with scales with shining chromatic nuances, embroidered with exclusive techniques and materials on a drapery composed of fabric panels, with the aim of focusing on the issue of safeguarding the marine environment. An intense week, which has succeeded in establishing itself on the fashion world scene thanks to its genuinely innovative spirit which, year after year, has imposed a new virtuous model: no longer think green, but act green.
To confirm the green spirit of the MCFW 7 th edition, those designers who stand out for their commitment to sustainability will receive proper recognition. The mission of the Chambre Monegasque de la Mode is to increasingly enhance the pathway of fashion houses and discerning brands, capable of changing the traditional economic model, combining business with attention to the environment and social issues, create shared value and collaborate to achieve sustainable development goals.

At the tune of this anthem, several designers will be showing sustainable collections on the runway of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week.
