Alberta Ferretti, guest of honor of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week (MCFW©), will grace the runway with her Resort 2020 collection. During the MCFW©, always growing at international level with renowned names and emerging brands, the Chambre Monegasque de la Mode (CMM) will celebrate its 10 th anniversary.
Returning, rich in novelties and with an increased international focus, the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week MCFW©, is the official fashion event in the Principality of Monaco. The 7 th edition of the MCFW©, created in 2013 and organized by CMM will run from May 15-19, 2019 featuring resort, cruise and capsule collection Spring-Summer 2020. A unique and cross-sectorial schedule of events, with shows by iconic and emerging designers at the Fashion Village, Espace Fontvieille, to fashion conferences and social happenings, to the highly anticipated MCFW © Fashion Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 17.
Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco, the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week gains in prestige year after year, thanks to adhering to the international fashion week calendar. Buyers and fashion insiders worldwide eagerly await this fashion fair, thanks to the participation of leaders in the fashion field and celebrities frequenting the Principality. Alberta Ferretti, a prestigious guest of honor, on Saturday, May 18, 2019, will unveil her Resort 2020 collection with a fashion show at a prestigious venue in the Principality. The Italian designer is the leader of the namesake women’s wear brand, a symbol of style, femininity, elegance, sensuality and glamour, will
receive the Made-in-Italy Fashion Award.
The 2019 edition of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week coincides with another significant achievement, the 10 th anniversary of the Chambre Monegasque de la Mode. Founded in April 2009 by Federica Nardoni Spinetta, and under her presidency, it has a double purpose signaled by the important goals achieved during the first decade. On on side, CMM represents and spreads the values of local fashion designers, and promotes the Made in Monaco creativity on an international level, thanks to emerging brands; and on the other one project the Principality in the context of becoming a key to fashion worldwide.
The Chambre Monegasque de la Mode, in partnership with the Monegasque Government, the Monaco Town Hall and the Tourism Office of the Principality, regroup and federate diverse designers and brands, such as Banana Moon, Beach & Cashmere Monaco, Diana d’Orville, Elizabeth Wessel, Leslie Monte-Carlo, Loona Monte-Carlo, Stardust Monte-Carlo.
“We are proud to support emerging designers, offering the Principality of Monaco as a prestigious window to the world,” declared Federica Nardoni Spinetta, CMM President. During the previous MCFW © 2018 more than 40 international and Monegasque brands, representing 16
countries, have presented their collections, giving a particular focus to sustainability and innovation. It is also important to underline MCFW © commitment to charity, by supporting for three years in a row the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation (http://www.fondationprincessecharlene.mc/en). The main objective of the Foundation is to save lives by putting an end to drowning, increasing public awareness about the dangers of water and teaching children to swim and helping them learn preventive life-saving measures.
