For the sixth year in a row, Dior has brought together fashion’s crowd under the museum’s rotunda. People met for the annual museum’s Dior-sponsored gala dinner on Thursday night, in Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York).

The 2018 Guggenheim International Gala (GIG) took place on November 14th and 15th in the Museum’s landmark building and celebrated the generosity of the Edmond De Rothschild Foundations and Philanthropists Dimitris Daskalopoulos and Alice Walton.
The festive events began with the Pre-Party on Wednesday, November 14th. Nearly 600 guests attended where an event was featuring a special performance by R&B singer songwriter Jorja Smith in the iconic Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Rotunda.
The main benefit Dinner on the following evening, Thursday, November 15th, paid tribute to the 2018 honorees in recognition of their longstanding and dedicated commitment to supporting the Arts.

Beccari finished his speech with  “Dior is a very natural partner for a really important art museum in the world,”
I think by doing so, we are just following in the steps of Mr. Dior.”

This year more than $2 million was raised in support of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, advancing a range of internationally acclaimed exhibitions and educational programs, while providing stewardship for the Guggenheim’s modern and contemporary art collection and its building.

The Guggenheim International Gala (GIG), made possible by Dior, is the museum’s signature fundraising event that celebrates the Guggenheim’s yearly accomplishments and raises significant funds to continue the museum’s world-renowned exhibition program. Featuring a seated dinner and honored guests, it is the most glamorous night at the museum.
