Vacheron Constantin – the oldest watchmaking manufactory in the world, actively showing a perfect harmony between tradition and innovation more than 260 years, presents a new watch collection. Vacheron Constantin enriches his “Métiers d’Art” collection with a new creation. This time the main focus is to upcoming 2019 – Year of the Earth Pig. According to this Chinese horoscope, people are invited to meet a new year stylish with a new “LA LEGENDE DU ZODIAQUE CHINOIS” collection.

A combination of art crafts
The design of the leaves visible on the dial is taken from the classical Chinese iconography and is engraved directly into the metal. The decoration stands out on the gold base, delicate accentuated reliefs, which gives an effect of depth, as the leaves are floating on the dial.
At other stage follows the Grand Feu glazing, an ancestral technique that only a few craftsmen still do. Applying the enamel in successive layers, the enameller accentuates the intensity of the blue or bronze colors of the dial. The pig, in platinum or rose gold, is hand-engraved before being gently put to the center of the dial.

The dial indicates the hours, minutes, day of the week and date in four small windows. The sapphire crystal case back of the platinum or rose gold case, the 22-carat gold weight, is embellished with the recurring decoration of a Maltese cross, a finish executed in line with the best watchmaking traditions.
