Gabriela Hearst has named Giuseppe Giovannetti chief executive officer. Tomas Maier’s director since 2014 and the executive director of the US territory in Bottega Veneta since 2011 joined the apparel and accessories business as a consultant last year.

The new management will report to the board of management of the company and will be responsible for overseeing the global distribution of the mark in the international markets, as well as supervising the production in Italy and the design and production teams in New York. Giovannetti was also the brand’s first CEO. The brand was managed by the founder in both creative and commercial terms for three years.

The decision to leave the company to a CEO dates back over a year. “I knew a lot about where the company’s situation would be in terms of volume, and I knew that new challenges and opportunities would emerge,” said Uruguayan designer.
