In Prada, Via della Spiga in Milan opened new spaces, allowing a new layout and interior architecture and a new image to roll. The boutique is entirely dedicated to women’s collections.
The floor-to-floor area – dedicated to leather goods, accessories and footwear collections – is an original and sophisticated interpretation of the historic Prada screen niches. Among the new and elegant design elements were the green marble tables drawn by the Milan design firm BBPR and specially produced with only a limited series for Prada.
The iconic checkered floor in black and white marble completes the area, becomes deformed and almost optically creates perspective lines that enhance the focal points of the screens.
The Upper Kata – a marble staircase – hosts clothing collections and is combined with modern design of ceiling windows and pearl-gray carpeted floor, large windows and wooden details of 1950’s furniture. The walls are inspired by the iconic prints of the mark and are decorated in pieces in pastel green tones. In both levels, the image elements made with polished wood details are furnished with furniture designed by Osvaldo Borsani and Giò Ponti, designed exclusively for some special design pieces that honor the masters of Prada and 1950’s Milan design.
