To present the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2018/19 pre-collection, Karl Lagerfeld has chosen sobriety and timeless elegance. Against a simple monochrome backdrop, the designer stages the graceful Adut Akech; originally from Sudan, the model opened the CHANEL 2018/19 Cruise runway show presented on May 3rd at the Grand Palais.
CHANEL’s iconic tweed warms a long ecru jacket finished with red and blue braid, accompanied by a knitted skirt finished with a wide rib trim for a sporty chic look. Tweed is iridescent on a wide collared jacket, a pair of Bermuda shorts and a bustier worn en trompe l’œil over a jersey dress. Leather makes an impression on a coat and a skirt in pleated lambskin with chevron motifs, and as a long tube skirt in shiny calfskin worn with a tweed jacket also trimmed with leather. Finally, broadcloth swathes a belted jacket and trousers outfit, and a long coat that hides Bermuda shorts beneath. On her feet, Adut Akech sports perfectly timeless boots made from quilted leather with black patent toe caps.
The Fall-Winter 2018/19 pre-collection celebrates the allure of CHANEL in all its elegance and its modernity. It brings with it the renewed codes of an affirmed and obvious femininity. Discover the collection in boutiques from July 2018.
