CHANEL has the pleasure of announcing that the Oscar-winning actress Penélope Cruz is to become a CHANEL ambassador and will be the face of the next campaign for the 2018/19 Cruise collection photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.

Nominated 3 times for an Oscar and winning in 2009 for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and thus becoming the first Spanish actress to ever win the prestigious statue. Penélope Cruz began her international career with the film Jamón Jamón by Bigas Luna and Belle Époque by Fernando Trueba in 1992. She’s gone on to work with the biggest directors: Stephen Frears, Alejandro Amenábar, Rob Marshall, Sergio Castellito, Woody Allen, Asghar Farhadi, and especially Pedro Almodóvar, becoming a favourite actress of his. She has also been bestowed with three Goyas (in 1997, 2007 and 2009), the Best Actress Award at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, a Bafta and in 2018 she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Académie des César.

The Spanish actress first attended a CHANEL fashion show in 1999.
