Marella supports #heartsmovement, SeeMe’s humanitarian project, by designing a capsule collection of jewels with the latter. The common aim of the brand is to help SeeMe create work opportunities for women NO CHARITY, JUST WORK. Let’s spread the message: we are #NEVERALONE.

Women are invisible in some countries, they’re excluded, abused and discriminated, but they can team up and overcome any prejudice and difficulty together and wherever. Marella’s spring/summer 2018 collection #NEVERALONE is the product of a collaboration with SeeMe, a humanitarian project which employs women who have suffered violence. What motivates the brand is to be there and guarantee a future for them. The capsule collection consists of small, light and essential jewellery, featuring two intertwined hearts, a symbol of unbreakable relationships. Silver plated brass necklaces, bracelets and colliers with braided silk strings and small and large heart-shaped penchants. Bangles with optimistic quotes on life: Life is a dance, Life is a journey, Life is freedom, Life is a dream. Unique handcrafted items.
SEEME.ORG Certified by the World Fair Trade Organisation, SeeMe creates work opportunities in many parts of the world. SeeMe employs women, often single mothers, who have suffered violence and were ostracised by their communities. SeeMe trains women and teaches them the craft of jewellery making. The brand was founded in 2013 by Caterina Occhio, a former UN development aid manager. After spending over 20 years supporting women from the Middle East and Northern African regions, Caterina decides to take matters into her own hands and back their rights and condition. Inspired by the bustling Medina of Tunis, she decided to open a goldsmith’s workshop by employing women in trouble, granting them a proper and dignified job. Her dream is to expand the business by increasing job opportunities for an ever-growing number of women.
