Coach announces the launch of its global advertising campaign for the 2018 spring / summer collection with a series of images that capture the strength and sweetness of New York City.

The iconic illustrations of the artist Keith Haring are at the center of the Spring 2018 collection. Based in New York City, Haring had a democratic and accessible approach to art and an ethos that Coach has always shared: inclusiveness. Coach’s iconic leathers are a natural canvas for Haring’s bold graphics.

The ready-to-wear collection evokes a tomboy femininity with antique crystals on transparent tops, satin bomber jackets with pink gold rivets and sparkling dresses in silk and lace. These feminine and nostalgic elements are mixed with leather, shearling and Western glitter boots. Men are casual with coats and soft suede jackets in contrast with Hawaiian prints and Keith Haring prints that pervade the entire collection.

The season scholarships include the Metropolitan Portfolio and the Bleecker backpack and, for women, the Camera Bag and the Mailbox, a re-edition of an archive model of Coach, introduced for the first time in 1972.

“The further expansion of the prêt-à-porter collection this season has been inspired by our Coach girl gang – the way they wear, party and live in our clothes,” says Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers. “I love that kind of sketchy glamor and sensuality, they belong a lot to Coach.”

Another novelty for spring / summer is the Signature motif, an iconic Coach design revisited for the modern girl and boy with a nostalgic touch, juxtaposed to Keith Haring’s drawings and enriched by Tea Rose applications.

“I liked the idea of customizing Coach’s historic Signature motif and turning it into a canvas to create something truly personal,” says Vevers. “We took our classic and revolutionized it by giving it an urban downtown attitude – a very current and modern unexpected combination.”

Coach has worked with long-time collaborators, including photographer Steven Meisel, stylist Karl Templer, creative director Fabien Baron, makeup artist Pat McGrath and hair stylist Guido Palau.

The campaign consists of eight images and includes bags, ready-to-wear, footwear, eyewear and watches, along with a short film whose shots behind the scenes.

Keith Haring x Coach was created in collaboration with Artestar, an agency that exclusively represents Keith Haring around the world and other high profile artists.
