Grand Finale of Vancouver Fashion Week

„All fashion weeks around the world are different in their own way. VFW is similar to London and New York, but on a smaller scale; smaller shows and smaller designers.” – said Jamal Abdourahman, the founder of VFW. In his opinion „working with new designers, and helping them work and grow their brand” –  it is the most favorite part about the whole week, because  – „ it’s a huge honor to show their works to the world.”

#DAY6 of VFW opened Mezis who put attention to the textures of ruffles and pleats with the white-as-snow palette. Collection LBYL presented by Lee You was a kind of magnificent promenade with a note of romance. Projects brought a modern fairytale to life. The standout look was: flared silk trousers in jewel pink with matching pleated tunic and black bead overlay.

In this season Kim Tiziana Rottmüller experimentalize with shape, volume and space in her collection Bittersweet which she presented to the world. Choiboko used lively splashes of color against subdued greys. And Korean designer Bok Ho Choi focused on print placement with the elements of painted faces brushstroke watercolors brightening up flared skirts and collarless jackets.

Fashion Week in Vancouver finished, but can be successfully named the fastest growing fashion week in the world. And it is only industry event that actively seeks out to showcase international award winning designers from over 25 global fashion capitals. And concentrated on the local designers, 39 were just from Canada and showcased on the runway in this year.
