Vancouver Fashion Week that celebrated multiculturalism and showcased international designers from over 25 global fashion capitals, kicked off on September 18th, 2017 Spring/Summer 2018 Season. It was a snippet preview of the sixteen designers showcasing this week, with each bringing in one key look.

The cross section was anything but standard – from vibrant colourful polka dot patterns to all black textured layers. Remember the names: Charly Thorn, Aiki District and Nozomi Kuwahara. These are the featured designers who showed full lines.

Charly Thorn for the Spring Summer 2018 as an inspiration chose the colours of the sea and the use of transparancies. Tropical prints of green palms are highlighted on white canvas, accented with polished metallic espadrille shoes. This surely feels like a resort collection perfect for your next holiday!

Aiki District stands for neutral colors and sheer fabrics, mixed with baby blues and highlights of vibrant red. There was a juxtaposition of structured pieces featuring exterior pockets and visible tailoring, mixed with softer more fluid silhouettes and laser cut attributes.

Talking about Nozomi Kuwahara’s latest collection, it is not a mistake to call it playful and fluorescent colour because these are the words that describes the designer’s collection best. With a mix of geometric patterns and voluminous sleeves, her look is street style ready, with ‘Harajuku’-esque models rocking fluro plaited pigtails. Mini jersey t-shirts are stitched together in a motif which was developed throughout.
