Totem Collective explores the hidden gem of Denmark
Totem Collective, an accessories brand based in Scandinavia and Asia focusing on merging art, fashion and design, recently visited the former residence of the enfant terrible of Denmark’s art world – Richard Winther.
On the Danish island of Lolland, the brand visited the old residence of painter and sculptor Richard Winther. Nestling quietly in the minuscule village of Vindeby, this is the place where the former professor at the Royal Danish Art Academy and enfant terrible of Danish art spent his otium.
Stepping into the house was an instant transformation into a whole other universe. The wall paintings and sculptures, most of them inspired by antique mythology, create an unusually sensual atmosphere in every corner of the house, and everything so thoughtfully and interestingly done, it appeared as a powerful contrast to the Nordic sceneries outside.
BACKPACK 01 and the TOTE 01 were shot by the photographers – Baixiang Chen and Thomas Olafsson.
