“Tambour Horizon” can pair with up-to-date Android phones and iPhones. Iits 42mm case comes in three models; Black, Graphite and Monogram. There’s 60 interchangeable strap options to mix up the looks and all three are water resistant up to 30 metres as well. There’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on board and battery life is said to be up to 22 hours.
The unisex design works internationally—including in China—making it an ideal companion for the LV-loyal globetrotter.
Louis Vuitton does manage to leave its mark with a host of customisable watch faces and a couple of preloaded apps that have been designed by the luxury brand.
The first app is City Guide, which will determine your location and pick out nice restaurants, bars or shops to visit from seven world capitals. There’s also My Flight, an app that’s all about tracking your flight, alerting you about delays and gate changes.
The LV smartwatch collection is available to buy now with prices starting from $2,400.
Louis Vuitton’s decision to enter the smartwatch fray is not all that surprising – and not just because it’s from the same stable as Tag Heuer. Like Fossil and the Movado Group (Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger), it’s a move to entice a younger audience to invest in its watches.
