FLOW the Label presents new FW 17/18 collection

Ukrainian-Belgian FLOW the Label presents new Fall 2017 collection. Designer Viktoria Balaniuk continues the conversation she started in Pre-Fall 2017: the analysis of style and social codes in romantic drama film Two English Girls. By FLOW the Label’s tradition, a starting point of collection’s creation is always the art world. Two English Girls (directed by François Truffaut)is an exemplary French Nouvelle Vague movie.

It is centered around the love triangle of English sisters Ann and Muriel, and French guy Claude. The movie’s events take place in early 20th century, during the period of transition from Puritanism morals to more free behaviors. ‘The heroines wear beautiful yet still a bit restrained attire influenced by late Victorian era’s styles, but their personal life is now more frivolous’, tells Viktoria Balaniuk. Modesty neighboring slight sexuality is in the heart of FLOW The Label’s Fall 2017.

Crossed with label’s DNA, the contrast gives a noble result. Light blouses with stiffened collars and voluminous sleeves here conjoin jacket and coat with a set of shoulders lowered deeply; strict high-wasted pencil skirts match sexy silk tops; slinky overall worn with masculine jacket looks as if there is a naked body underneath.

Mind the blue cotton dress in rustic style, with yoke, long sleeves and relaxed feel, tied with wide ribbon; also, coffee-colored sarafan with detachable waist, ruffles on bodice and front strap, worn on a golden top. The collection runs FLOW the Label’s classics: tops and shirts with cold shoulder, aprons; cloths as denim, batiste, jacquard and micro corduroy; and some laces.
