Through the Desert of Issey Miyake Men ss18

Inspired by a journey into the wilderness, ISSEY MIYAKE MEN SS18 evokes the presence of a powerful man in the immensity of marvelous landscapes that endlessly expand beyond his eyesight. Having to rely on his own strength, he chooses comfortable clothes even in very dry climates. The vast horizons of the desert, where the great warmth of the day leaves room for the cool starry night, bringing comfort and relief. This collection celebrates the modern man, considering his need to enjoy the great beauty of wildlife.

The double-face cotton, ISSEY MIYAKE MEN classic fabric since the early 1970s, is used to create a new style. The palette that refers to the colors of the earth, created inspired by the sand desert, is obtained by tinging the material. The result is deep-colored dresses and a soft, relaxed texture to a minimum, making a rippled effect that remembers the sand. Using this unique material and minimalist style, the collection offers relaxed and comfortable clothing in keeping with the brand philosophy.

This collection presents the texture of the hardest desert. Natural prints and marvelous morphologies, using various materials and techniques. A cut-jacquard is made of wool, polyester and cotton, to abstractly abstract the arid landscape of the desert. Through a filling technique that slightly narrows the wool, a random ripple of the fabric is obtained, making the effect even richer.

The following looks use different materials treated with a salt shrinkage technique, applied to add a distinctive sign to polyester garments and cotton garments. They are all lightweight clothes, designed with the functional elements, such as delicacy and minimal care required. Dynamic motives inspired by the gradations of the geological layers, obtained through marble prints made with colored glue. The prints, made by the hands of experienced craftsmen who have combined intricate different colors, are rolled onto a soft polyester origin developed by a patented wire. Jackets and trousers were plastered after being sewn. Vertical ripples create a clear, minimal look; a practical series that does not require ironing, washable in water and quick drying.
