Black sweeps towards the temples, gold illuminates the centre of the eyelids, and lips catch the light. For the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2027 show, makeup by Hiromi Ueda, Armani Global Makeup Artist, complements the collection by exploring the concept of evolution: embracing change while retaining a recognisable identity.
An idea rooted in the house’s aesthetic language takes shape on the face through a balance of textures and intensity. “The makeup for the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2027 show is inspired by the idea of transformation through a play of shapes, light and textures that reveals new facets of the face without altering its essence,” explains Ueda.
The eyes take centre stage, defined by soft black shading blended outwards to create an elongated shape. Smooth Silk Eye Pencil #4, applied along the lash line, establishes the initial definition, while Eye Tint #99M and #22M soften its edges. At the centre of the eyelid, a gold pigment breaks through the depth of the shadows with a luminous accent. A generous application of Vertigo Lift Mascara completes the eye look.
Balancing the intensity of the eyes is a natural base with a satin finish. Following Fluid Master Primer, a light layer of Luminous Silk Foundation evens out the complexion without weighing it down. Luminous Silk Concealer is used in different shades to brighten the centre of the face and gently sculpt the cheekbones. Armani Dolci Makeup Blush #2 adds colour to the apples of the cheeks, while Luminous Silk Acqua Highlighter #3 illuminates the high points of the face.
The lips introduce a higher shine: Prima Flash #11 is followed by a generous layer of Prima Glass #01, delivering an intensely glossy, almost vinyl-like finish.
The interplay between these finishes gives the beauty look its character: softly blended shadows, the gleam of gold and the shine of the lips. An interpretation of transformation expressed through a few precise gestures, each capable of bringing a fresh expression to the face.
