Hublot has announced a new collaboration with Jeff Koons, one of the most influential and recognisable figures in contemporary art. The partnership brings together two creative worlds united by experimentation, technical mastery and a desire to challenge convention.

The dialogue between the Swiss watchmaker and the American artist is rooted in a significant coincidence: 1980 was a pivotal year for both. It marked Hublot’s debut and its disruption of traditional watchmaking codes, while Koons began redefining the relationship between art, everyday objects and popular culture.

Through works such as Balloon Dog, Rabbit and Puppy, Koons has transformed seemingly simple forms into global cultural icons. Behind their playful appearance lies meticulous planning, extensive material research and exceptional attention to detail—principles that naturally resonate with Hublot’s approach to watchmaking.

“Hublot and I have always shared a fascination for material sciences,” says Koons, highlighting how both art and watchmaking can transcend their individual materials and give objects new meaning.

Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot, also emphasises the connection between the two worlds: a creative tension between tradition and disruption, mechanics and emotion, innovation and craftsmanship. It is a vision in which every surface, curve and proportion serves a precise purpose.

The collaboration with Jeff Koons continues the journey Hublot began in 2011 alongside internationally renowned artists, architects and designers. More than an aesthetic partnership, it celebrates what lies beneath the surface: research, discipline, mastery and the ability to transform complexity into emotion.
