A tribute to the light, history and refinement of the lagoon city. Buccellati presents “Serenissima”, the new high jewellery collection that translates the most precious soul of Venice into gold, weaving together Renaissance memory, goldsmithing artistry and inspirations drawn from the lace of Burano.

The name of the collection evokes the glorious Serenissima Republic, a symbol of artistic splendour, independence and culture. From this imagery comes a line that portrays Venice not only as a place, but as an aesthetic universe: a city made of reflections, transparencies, minute details and suspended beauty.

At the heart of the collection lies a dialogue between two forms of mastery: that of Venetian lacemakers and that of Buccellati goldsmiths. From the very beginning, Mario Buccellati was fascinated by the lightness of Burano needle lace, wishing to transfer its grace and delicacy into his jewels. With “Serenissima”, this inspiration finds a new expression.

The creations transform sheets of gold into light, sinuous textures, crafted through the technique of openwork. The metal is engraved, shaped and lightened through patient, precise gestures, until it takes on the appearance of precious lace to be worn on the skin.
Every detail preserves the Maison’s historic codes: Modellato engraving, settings illuminated by colpi di lucido, and the Rigato technique, one of Buccellati’s most recognisable forms of craftsmanship. The result is a discreet yet unmistakable elegance, capable of combining artisanal complexity with visual lightness.

“Serenissima” thus becomes a tribute to the most eternal Venice: that of Murano glass, precious fabrics, reflections on the water and an artisanal savoir-faire handed down through the centuries. A collection that honours Italian excellence and renews the bond between Buccellati and the art of timeless beauty.
As Andrea Buccellati, Honorary President and Creative Director of the Maison, explains, each jewel is conceived as a fragment of Venice: a dialogue between goldsmithing tradition, centuries-old history and lagoon charm.
