CHANEL is strengthening its historic ties with Biarritz through the opening of an ephemeral boutique at 3 Rue Gardères, open until September 27. The city holds a symbolic place in the House’s history: in 1915, Gabrielle Chanel opened her first couture house there, at the Villa de Larralde.

Inspired by Art Deco aesthetics, the boutique blends CHANEL’s signature codes with the architectural spirit of Biarritz. The space is divided into two distinct areas dedicated to accessories and Ready-to-Wear, featuring geometric lines, mirrored details, stone flooring, black lacquered pillars and burgundy accents.

Since opening, the boutique has showcased the CHANEL COCO BEACH 2026 collection — a refined summer wardrobe defined by light silhouettes, sophisticated textures and vibrant tones. The collection revisits some of Gabrielle Chanel’s signature style elements, including flowing day pyjamas, two-tone ensembles and knitwear, while subtly reinterpreting iconic House codes such as the double C and sailor stripes.

By returning to Biarritz and selecting the city as the backdrop for the Cruise 2026/27 collection, Matthieu Blazy continues the spirit of freedom, movement and modern elegance that helped shape the CHANEL style more than a century ago.
