For Milan Design Week 2026, Chloé has unveiled a refined re-edition of the iconic Tomato Chair, the sculptural seat originally designed in 1970 by French designer Christian Adam, in collaboration with Poltronova, one of the defining names of Italy’s Radical design movement.

Under the creative direction of Chemena Kamali, the French house continues to extend its aesthetic universe beyond fashion, stepping into collectible design with a piece that embodies softness, sensuality, and formal freedom. With its rounded, organic silhouette, the Tomato Chair emerged as a rejection of rigid furniture typologies, proposing a more instinctive and emotional relationship between body and object.
Chloé’s new interpretation remains faithful to the original design while updating it through contemporary manufacturing techniques and a carefully considered material approach. The chair is crafted in soft naturally tanned leather and offered in four curated shades — cream, cognac, sand, and black — as exclusive made-to-order editions, reinforcing its status as a future collector’s piece. Original 1970s versions, produced only in limited numbers, are now highly sought after.
More than a simple reissue, the project reflects the meeting of two design sensibilities: Poltronova’s experimental heritage and Kamali’s vision for Chloé today. According to the press release, the chair’s tactile presence, fluid lines, and sculptural softness resonated immediately with the maison’s contemporary identity.
The re-edition will be presented in Milan from April 22 to 26, 2026, at Via della Spiga 30
