For Salone del Mobile 2026, Tod’s unveils “Icons by Icons,” a special project paying tribute to 20th-century Italian design through a new interpretation of the Gommino, one of the brand’s most recognizable symbols and an expression of Italian craftsmanship and lifestyle.

At the heart of the initiative is a limited-edition collection in which Tod’s iconic driving shoe is reimagined through the visual language of four masters of Italian design: Joe Colombo’s Elda armchair, Gaetano Pesce’s Crosby chair, Michele De Lucchi’s Kristall table for Memphis Milano, featuring the celebrated Fantastic pattern, and the Radiofonografo RR226 Brionvega by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. The result is four collector-style interpretations of the Gommino, combining creativity, style and artisanal heritage.

The project will be presented on 21 April 2026 at Tod’s space in Via Savona 56, in the heart of Milan’s design district, with an opening event during Milan Design Week. The exhibition will place the original design pieces in dialogue with their respective Gommino reinterpretations, creating a narrative centered on Italian excellence in design and craftsmanship.

During the event, Tod’s artisans will also offer a live demonstration of key stages in the making of the Gommino, including its signature hand-stitching, a defining feature of the shoe and a longstanding emblem of the brand’s artisanal expertise.

The installation will remain open to the public by registration until the following Sunday, while the limited-edition collection will be available from 21 April exclusively at the Tod’s boutique in Milan Monte Napoleone and on tods.com.
