Jacob & Co. introduces the Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal, an ultra-exclusive timepiece that pushes the boundaries of watchmaking with a fully transparent sapphire crystal case.
An evolution of the original Bugatti Tourbillon, the watch is crafted entirely from solid sapphire, offering a 360-degree view of its intricate mechanics. Known for its exceptional hardness, the material requires more than 800 hours of precision machining for each case.
The design draws directly from Bugatti hypercars, featuring signature elements such as the horseshoe grille and tail light motifs. At its core lies a fully functional V16 engine block automaton, where 16 titanium pistons move in perfect synchronization during 20-second animation sequences.
Powered by the hand-wound JCAM55 caliber, the watch includes a 30-second flying tourbillon—the fastest ever created by Jacob & Co.—and delivers an 80-hour power reserve. The display, inspired by a car dashboard, features retrograde hours and minutes along with dual power reserve indicators for both the movement and the automaton.
The collection is limited to two unique pieces, offered in green and blue, underscoring its rarity and exclusivity. Retail price is set at $1.2 million.
