An editorial and design project pays homage to Giorgio Armani, a defining figure of contemporary elegance and one of the most influential voices in global fashion. Titled Armani Tribute, the initiative was developed within the Textile Design I course of the Fashion and Textile Design degree program at the Università degli Studi di Firenze, hosted at the PIN – Polo Universitario Città di Prato.

The collection consists of four thematic publications, each translating a core principle of Armani’s aesthetic language — elegance, order, purity, and harmony — into visual and material form. At the heart of the research lies the stripe: not merely decorative, but a structural device capable of expressing rhythm, proportion, and composition. Across the volumes, eight distinct linear constructions transform graphic marks into conceptual textiles and narrative surfaces.

Around forty students took part in the project, guided by lecturer and art director Luca Parenti, who oversaw both the creative direction and editorial curation. The initiative forms part of a broader educational path promoted by course president Debora Giorgi, whose teaching approach emphasizes research, dialogue with the fashion system, and the enhancement of textile culture as a defining heritage of the Prato district.
Beyond its academic and experimental value, Armani Tribute also stands as a symbolic homage to the designer’s cultural legacy. The project’s restrained palette — neutrals, greys, deep blues, and powdery tones — echoes the quiet balance that has long defined Armani’s signature style.
