For the Spring/Summer 2026 show, Prada revisits one of its most recognizable languages: the uniform. As always, however, it does so by overturning its meaning. Rigorous constructions are taken apart and reassembled, following the gesture of the wearer and taking on ever-evolving interpretations. It is a spontaneous, almost instinctive fluidity that reflects an attitude deeply rooted in the Prada lexicon.
Within this vision emerges the concept of the “bag that contains a bag”, a metaphor for the duality that has long defined Prada’s identity. Interior and exterior, structure and movement, function and expression intertwine in a deliberately unconventional balance, giving rise to objects that exist within a continuous dialogue between form and gesture.
The protagonist of this narrative is Prada Passage, unveiled on the runway as a perfect synthesis of these codes. Its classically inspired trapezoidal shape enhances its architectural volume, while three-dimensional gussets and a fully folded construction create an object that is elegant, precise and refined. A clean aesthetic that does not sacrifice functionality, reinterpreting the very idea of the uniform in a contemporary key.
The internal organization reflects an almost sartorial precision: three compartments structure the space, with a flap sealing the central section while leaving the two front pockets accessible. Long, slender handles suggest an effortless, natural way of carrying the bag under the arm, as a spontaneous gesture.
Challenging the classical trapezoidal architecture is the absence of visible stitching, expertly concealed within the gusset. The result is a “soft folding” effect that amplifies the perception of one container embracing another, reinforcing the play of conceptual and material stratification.
Material combinations fully embody Prada’s duality: preciousness and technique, artisanal tradition and a drive toward innovation. Presented on the runway in an absolute monochrome black, Prada Passage juxtaposes contrasting surfaces to assert its character with confidence — a luxurious, timeless object, yet unmistakably contemporary.
