Louis Vuitton is an associate partner of Art Basel Paris 2025 for the third consecutive year, unveiling the Artycapucines VII – Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami Collection, nearly 20 years after the first collection, which brought together the Japanese artist’s whimsical world with the Maison’s exceptional savoir-faire. To celebrate the occasion, Takashi Murakami has curated a unique installation presented on the majestic Balcon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais. Created for this edition of Art Basel Paris, the installation is an eight-meter-tall sculpture of an octopus, inspired by Chinese lanterns, whose tentacles will invade the exhibition space. At the entrance to this vast arch, exclusive scenographic sketches by the artist will lead visitors into the vibrant world of Takashi Murakami.

The 11 creations from the Artycapucines VII – Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Collection will be exhibited within its tentacles, designed in dialogue with his signature characters and motifs, from Mr. DOB to the Superflat Panda, including the iconic Smiling Flowers. The Collection will unfold around three Plush Balls, spherical works that Murakami has been developing since 1995.
