Piaget’s latest collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts captures that rare alchemy—transforming timekeeping into a vibrant act of self-expression. The Andy Warhol Watch “Collage” Limited Edition, unveiled this year, channels the artist’s unmistakable energy into a masterpiece that blurs the lines between luxury craftsmanship and contemporary art.
Andy Warhol, the visionary force behind Pop Art, famously owned seven Piaget watches. Among them was a striking black and gold model he purchased in 1973—an object that symbolized both his fascination with glamour and his obsession with collecting beauty in all its forms. Decades later, Piaget has resurrected that creative connection, reinterpreting Warhol’s spirit through modern craftsmanship and artistic homage.
Following the 2024 partnership between Piaget and the Andy Warhol Foundation, the Maison has deepened its relationship with the artist’s legacy. The result is a capsule watch that carries Warhol’s creative DNA into the future—and onto the wrist.
Limited to just 50 pieces, the Andy Warhol Watch “Collage” is a study in colour and form. Its dial—a vivid marquetry composition—reimagines one of Warhol’s 1986 self-portrait collages through a mosaic of ornamental gemstones. Black onyx forms the base, overlaid with vibrant slices of yellow Namibian serpentine, pink opal, and green chrysoprase, each meticulously cut and arranged by Piaget’s artisans using the ancient art of marquetry.
Encased in 18-carat yellow gold—a nod to Warhol’s own 1973 watch—the piece radiates warmth and nostalgia. Its stepped 45mm silhouette is set on a deep green leather strap, a bold yet balanced counterpoint to the explosion of colour on the dial.
Behind its dazzling façade, the watch houses Piaget’s in-house 501P1 self-winding mechanical calibre, offering a 40-hour power reserve. On the case back, an engraved portrait of Warhol immortalizes the inspiration, complete with Piaget’s signature and the artist’s autograph—a perfect blend of precision and personality.
For Piaget’s Artistic Director Stéphanie Sivrière, the collaboration was a journey into Warhol’s world. “We spent six months immersed in his work—studying his archives, his colors, his contradictions,” she recalls. “We wanted to express Warhol without being literal—to suggest, rather than show.” The result is not a replica of a Pop Art icon but a refined interpretation—a wearable conversation between art and craftsmanship.
