Fondazione Prada presents “Sueño Perro: Instalación Celuloide de Alejandro G. Iñárritu”, a multisensory exhibition celebrating the 25th anniversary of Amores Perros. Opening in Milan on 18 September 2025, the installation reimagines over one million feet of unseen film left out of the original edit, preserved for 25 years in the archives of UNAM.

Through 35mm analog projections and an immersive soundscape, Iñárritu transforms these forgotten fragments into a labyrinth of memory, love, violence, and raw realism. Far from nostalgia, the work is described by the director as a “resurrection”, evoking the ghosts and grain of celluloid in an era of digital saturation.
The project also includes “Mexico 2000: The Moment That Exploded”, curated by Juan Villoro, which contextualizes the film’s sociopolitical backdrop through photography, sound, and archival material. After Milan, the exhibition will travel to Mexico City’s LagoAlgo (October 2025 – January 2026) and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (spring 2026)
