On September 2, 2025, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced Nouvel Air, Nouvelle Ère, a major renovation program for all four Paris Opera sites—the Palais Garnier, Opéra Bastille, Dance School in Nanterre, and Ateliers Berthier—set to begin in 2027.
CHANEL has become an Exceptional Patron of the initiative, reinforcing its long-standing ties with dance that date back to Gabrielle Chanel. “This project will enhance the prestige of both the Opera and the city of Paris for decades to come,” said Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL Fashion Activities and Chanel SAS.
Already patron of the Paris Opera’s Dance Opening Gala since 2018 and Grand Patron since 2023, CHANEL supports the institution across its artistic projects, from the creation of the Junior Ballet in 2024 to costume design and collaborations with choreographers.
