In the spring of 2025, the Fondation Louis Vuitton invites David Hockney, one of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, to take over the entire building for an exhibition that is exceptional in its scale and uniqueness. The exhibition, which will run from April 9 to August 31, 2025, brings together more than 400 works by the artist (from 1955 to 2025), including paintings from international, institutional and private collections, as well as works from the artist’s studio and Foundation. Various techniques are present, including oil and acrylic paint, ink, pencil and charcoal drawings, digital art (works on iPhone, iPad, photographic drawings, etc.) and immersive video installations.

“This exhibition has a great meaning for me, because it is the largest I have ever had: 11 rooms in the Fondation Louis Vuitton. It will include some of the most recent works I have worked on, and I think it will be very beautiful,” said the artist.

The exhibition demonstrates how the artist has continually renewed both his subjects and his way of expressing himself, reinventing his art with the use of new tools: first a designer, then a master of all academic techniques, today he is an expert in new technologies.
