La Verrière commences the year 2025 with “Antre”, Pélagie Gbaguidi’s first solo exhibition in Brussels. The artist’s work will also be accompanied by contributions from the Collectif Aygo, sculptor Marianne Berenhaut, artist Hessie and the writer and actor Sophie Marie Larrouy.
The exhibition “Antre” retraces several years of Pélagie Gbaguidi’s work. It brings together, for the first time, some of the artist’s most emblematic works and reveals the richness of her artistic thought, driven by a great freedom of style and tone. With a particular focus on her paintings and drawings, the exhibition seeks to highlight the power of figuration that predominates in Pélagie Gbaguidi’s work.
“Antre” is Joël Riff’s seventh exhibition for La Verrière, featuring artists in a multifaceted configuration, continuing the “augmented solo” principle he initiated in 2023. By inviting notable figures from diverse backgrounds to discuss an artist’s approach, he invites the public to enrich their perception of a singular body of work, while at the same time setting it within a fruitful interplay of connections. In keeping with the spirit of La Verrière, the concept was designed as an opportunity to share, to receive and to observe. It’s a place where creativity is both concentrated and disseminated, driven by transmission and exchange.
Founded in 2000, La Verrière is one of the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès’ four exhibition spaces. As part of the Fondation’s programmes to support contemporary creation, artists are invited to embrace the space and focus on the production of new works.
