The history of CHANEL is intimately linked to that of cinema.
Close to many artists, Gabrielle Chanel has been in contact with the cinematic universe from the very beginning, dressing actresses who have become its most famous ambassadors and embodying CHANEL’s close connection with cinema.
For the third consecutive year, the House of CHANEL is proud to support the Villa Medici Film Festival.
On Thursday, September 12, during the Festival, the short film “Allégorie Citadine” written and directed by Alice Rohwacher and JR was presented, followed by a talk in the presence of the two artists moderated by Sam Stourdzé.
CHANEL then hosted an exclusive cocktail party inside the Villa attended by numerous Ambassadors and friends of the House such as Lucy Boynton, Alma Jodorowsky, Fotinì Peluso, Nathalie Emmanuel, Gaia Girace, Sara Serraiocco, Valentina Bellé and several prominent figures from the film industry. Afterwards, the guests had the pleasure of attending the screening of the film “PARIS, TEXAS” by Wim Wenders, which this year celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the Palme d’Or received with a new version, restored thanks to the support of the Maison.
