“I want to be part of what is to come” declared Gabrielle Chanel.
Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio, unexpectedly fulfilled this wish with the creation of the PREMIÈRE SOUND watch: a long sautoir necklace featuring a watch and… wired headphones.
An enhanced interpretation of the PREMIÈRE ÉDITION ORIGINALE watch, boldly connected to the present, capturing the moment and the movement of life.
Created in 1987, the PREMIÈRE watch is timeless. While combining the House’s icons – an octagonal case inspired by the stopper of the No. 5 perfume bottle, a flexible bracelet as a nod to the chained shoulder strap of the House’s iconic bag – it embodies a spirit of freedom and audacity unique to CHANEL.
True to this spirit, PREMIÈRE SOUND embraces the Zeitgeist while preserving its “jewelry watch” essence. Thus, the bracelet transforms into a necklace that connects in a click to a smartphone (iPhone or Android) or any audio device. Its headphones are equipped with a microphone and a remote control to adjust the volume, control audio and video playback and receive phone calls.
The sophisticated aesthetics of PREMIÈRE SOUND is coupled with state-of-the-art audio technology: the headphones are precisely designed to provide high-quality sound, ensuring a pure immersive listening experience and benefit from passive sound insulation cancelling external noise interference.
Just as the PREMIÈRE watch reinvented traditional watchmaking codes, the PREMIÈRE SOUND pursues this quest for creative innovation with the capacity of seizing the moment while combining natural elegance and technological performance. To be in-tune with the world and stay connected to one’s closest, to match sounds with the changing environment, to walk the urban landscape while never losing sight of the horizon. To enjoy freedom.
